Character Overview

With Zenless Zone Zero's second anniversary comes a new Void Hunter Agent, Remielle Dan. Remielle is an S-Rank Lumiflux Anomaly Agent whose kit revolves around buffing Anomaly Agent's DMG by triggering Refringe, while dealing high Attribute Anomaly DMG through Luminize based on her teammate's Anomaly-related stats. Many of Remielle's skills have the ability to apply Lumiflux Buildup Points, increasing the DMG dealt by any Attribute Anomaly triggered. Additionally, when paired with other Anomaly Agents, she provides a teamwide ATK increase based on the amount of Anomaly Agents in the party.

Remielle will primarily be played as a quickswap DMG dealer, using her EX Special to enter the Phase Flow state and provide Lumiflux Buildup Points while inactive. After triggering three Attribute Anomalies, she can be brought on-field to use her Assist Attack, Ultimate and Hold Basic. These attacks trigger Luminize, dealing DMG based on the stats of the Anomalies triggered by teammates. Due to both her large buffs and reliance on other Anomaly Agents to deal DMG, she can be played with a wide variety of different Anomaly DPS as long as they have high stats to trigger strong Anomalies for her to store.

What is Lumiflux?

Unlike other Void Hunter Agents, Remielle instead introduces a new Attribute altogether, Lumiflux. Lumiflux is not a Variant Attribute like prior Void Hunter Attributes and as such Remielle requires Lumiflux Chips to level up her Skills.

Compared to other Attributes, Lumiflux does not apply any Anomaly Buildup naturally. Instead, Lumiflux Agents will apply Lumiflux Buildup Points when specific attacks hit enemies, up to a maximum of 4 stacks per enemy. Currently, Lumiflux DMG Bonus does not exist as a possible mainstat on Slot 5 Drive Disks, nor do enemies have any Resistances specifically to Lumiflux DMG.

Attribute Flux

When a Lumiflux Agent is added to the party, they undergo an effect called Attribute Flux, copying the Attribute of the Agent positioned after them in the team order. For example, in a team of Jane Doe, Velina and Remielle, Remielle will copy Jane's Physical Attribute as Jane is positioned after Remielle in the team order. While Attribute Fluxed, all Lumiflux DMG dealt will also be considered DMG of the Fluxed Attribute. As a result, any DMG dealt while Attribute Fluxed with Physical will benefit from any Physical DMG Bonus sources and target the enemy's Physical DMG RES.

It is important to note that although Remielle deals DMG that is considered both Lumiflux and the Fluxed Attribute, she is still only considered a Lumiflux Agent. As a result, she can not trigger effects such as Aria's Signature W-Engine which require the equipping Agent to be an Ether Agent, nor can she activate the Additional Abilities of Bangboo that require 2 of a specific Attribute in the squad.

Refringe

When another Agent triggers an Attribute Anomaly on an enemy with Lumiflux Buildup Points, one Buildup Point is consumed to trigger Refringe, increasing the DMG dealt by that Attribute Anomaly based on the Lumiflux Agent's Refringe Coefficient. Refringe Coefficient is a new and unique multiplier for Anomaly DMG, with Remielle being the only current source of this stat. Refringe Coefficient also snapshots into Anomaly Auras, causing any Ablooms, Vortexes and Disorders triggered on Refringed Anomaly Auras to also benefit from Refringe.

Currently, Remielle gains Refringe Coefficient based on 0.02% of her Anomaly Proficiency, plus an additional 10% if there are 3 Anomaly Agents in the squad. Her 2nd Mindscape also increases her Refringe Coefficient by an additional 20%.

For an average build of Remielle, expect to have roughly 18% to 22% Refringe Coefficient before factoring in additional sources of Anomaly Proficiency such as Velina's W-Engine or Endgame Stage Buffs.

Luminize

When teammates trigger Refringe, Remielle tracks the ATK, DMG Bonus, PEN Ratio, Flat PEN, Anomaly Proficiency and Refringe Coefficient of that Anomaly and stores it as one Voidflare. Remielle can store a maximum of three Voidflares and when using her Enhanced Basic Attack, Assist Attack or Ultimate, she will trigger one instance of Luminize Anomaly DMG for each Voidflare she currently has. The DMG Multiplier of Luminize is determined by the skill used and increases with Remielle's Skill Levels.

Luminize DMG is considered its own Attribute Anomaly type, but still remembers the Attribute of the previous Anomaly stored in the Voidflare. Because of this, Luminize DMG dealt from a Physical Voidflare will target the enemy's Physical DMG RES. However, unlike Ablooms or Vortexes, this Luminize will not benefit from Assault related effects such as Jane's Assault CRIT DMG or any instances of Assault DMG Bonus.

In order to buff Luminize DMG after the Voidflares have already been stored, buffs that specifically target Luminize must be used, including sources of universal Anomaly DMG Bonus such as Remielle's W-Engine, 4-Piece Feathered Fate, or Yuzuha's Attribute Anomaly DMG Bonus from her Additional Ability. Enemy debuffs such as RES Down and DEF Down will also affect the DMG dealt by Luminize as they affect all DMG dealt while the debuff is active.

Skills

Skill Breakdown

When Remielle's Basic Attacks hit enemies, she gains points of Floating Radiance, up to a maximum of 120. Upon reaching 120 Floating Radiance, she can hold Special or EX Special to trigger a Quick Assist and enter the Phase Flow state upon switching out.

During the Phase Flow state, Remielle will provide an 18% DMG Bonus buff at Skill Level 12 to the team for 60 seconds, scaling with the current level of her Special Skill. Remielle will lose 3 Floating Radiance per second during this state and continue attacking every 5 seconds while not the active character. When she attacks, she has the chance to use one of three different Special Attacks, with each attack applying either 0, 1 or 2 Lumiflux Buildup Points to enemies hit. Although semi-random, she will provide more than enough Lumiflux Buildup Points that running out will be incredibly difficult for a normal rotation.

Additionally, Remielle can not be swapped to normally during the Phase Flow state and 3 Voidflares must be gained by triggering Refringed Anomalies in order to swap back to her. Upon gaining 3 Voidflares and switching to Remielle, she will automatically trigger her Assist Attack, dealing Luminize DMG based on the stats stored in her Voidflares. Remielle's Assist Attack can only be cast once per Phase Flow state and during Stun, casting this skill also pauses the enemy's Stun Duration for 3 seconds, allowing Remielle to use this skill in Stun combos for free. Although irrelevant in a majority of scenarios, Remielle's Assist Attack is considered Quick Assist DMG.

After casting Remielle's Chain Attack or Assist Attack, her Hold Basic will be Enhanced, having a longer animation but dealing much higher Luminize DMG. However, there is very little reason to use her Chain Attack for this unless she has 3 Voidflares. If she does, her Chain will instead be replaced by her Assist Attack if it has not already been cast, making her Chain Attack an effectively unused Skill.

Upon entering the Phase Flow state or using either of Remielle's Hold Basics, her currently stored Voidflares will be removed, requiring her to gain three more during the Phase Flow state before triggering her Assist Attack again. Additionally, Remielle's Enhanced Hold Basic grants 120 Floating Radiance upon hitting an enemy, allowing her to instantly enter the Phase Flow state again.

Finally, Remielle's Ultimate can also trigger Luminize, with its DMG Multiplier being slightly higher than her other Skills. Although this Skill does not have any other special properties, it should still be used during a Stun combo thanks to the Luminize's high DMG output.

Compared to other Anomaly Agents, almost all of Remielle's Skills are important to level. Remielle's Assist Attack, Ultimate, Hold Basic and Enhanced Hold Basic can all trigger Luminize, with the DMG Multiplier of the Luminize increasing with the Skill Level of each respective Skill. As a result, it is important to level Remielle's Basic, Chain and Assist Skill for the Luminize DMG Multiplier, and her Special Skill for her teamwide DMG Bonus buff.

Core Skill Breakdown

For her Core Passive, Remielle gains additional Refringe Coefficient and increases the DMG Multiplier of her Luminizes multiplicatively based on her Anomaly Proficiency stat. If the team has 3 Anomaly Agents present, she will also gain an additional 10% Refringe Coefficient. Because of this, it is important to build sufficient Anomaly Proficiency on her as it increases both her DMG Multipliers and DMG dealt by teammates.

Remielle's Additional Ability activates when an Anomaly Agent or Agent of the same faction are in the squad. When activated, she provides an ATK buff up to a maximum of 1600 ATK based on the amount of Anomaly Agents in the squad. With 1, 2 or 3 Anomaly Agents in the squad, the amount of ATK granted to the team is equal to 6%, 12% or 40% of Remielle's Initial ATK, resulting in Remielle requiring 26666, 13333 or 4000 ATK respectively to maximise her buff. Naturally, it is impossible to gain enough ATK out of combat in order to maximize her ATK buff with 1 or 2 Anomalies, but the scaling still exists to provide a slight benefit to non Triple Anomaly teams and push players into her intended team archetype.

On top of this, Remielle's Daze dealt by her Special Attacks in the Phase Flow state also increases based on the amount of Anomaly Agents in the squad, increasing by 6%, 12% or 35% respectively. Finally, when an enemy has Lumiflux Buildup Points, they will be given the Prismatic effect, increasing Agent's Anomaly Buildup Rate against that enemy by 15%.

As mentioned previously, Remielle's Basic, Chain and Assist Skills all increase the Luminize DMG Multiplier of her skills, while her Special Skill increases the DMG Bonus buff granted to the squad. Because of this, all of her skills except Dodge are important to level in order to maximise both her and the team's DMG.

Recommended Combos

Due to her playstyle, there are very few actual combos needed for Remielle to do her job. However, most rotations will usually result in her using one Assist Skill and Hold Basic before reaching Stun, then one Assist Skill and Ultimate during Stun. The second Hold Basic will typically be used just after the Stun ends due to its vastly longer animation, making it awkward to utilise for most Stun rotations without losing out on DMG from other Agents.

If an enemy's Daze conveniently lines up, Remielle can use her Hold Basic just before Stun starts, triggering Stun with the hit that triggers Luminize. This will cause her Hold Basic to take up little to no time during Stun but still provide the Stun DMG Multiplier to the Luminize DMG instances. From here, press her EX Special and immediately switch out to enter the Phase Flow state again. If quick, it is possible to trigger 3 Anomalies in most teams before the Stun ends, allowing Remielle to then use her Assist Skill and Ultimate if available.

Drive Discs

Recommended Drive Discs

With the release of Version 3.1 comes an exclusive Drive Disc set for Remielle, Feathered Fate. Her Drive Disc set has Anomaly Proficiency as its 2-Piece and provides an additional 50 Anomaly Proficiency and 15% Anomaly DMG Bonus to the equipper if they are a Lumiflux Agent. These effects also never expire while the equipper is not the active Agent, making it perfect for Remielle's kit. As a result, it is highly recommended to farm for a 4-Piece Feathered Fate set for her once she is released.

Despite Remielle's DMG being considered both Lumiflux and her Fluxed Attribute, 4-Piece Freedom Blues does not activate for the Fluxed Attribute, resulting in three 2-Piece Drive Discs being the next best option for Remielle while waiting to acquire her 4-Piece Set Bonus.

Regarding 2-Piece Sets, 2-Piece Anomaly Proficiency is preferred over 2-Piece ATK. However, a 2-Piece ATK can be used if you are struggling to reach 4000 ATK on her.

As Remielle does not apply Anomaly Buildup naturally, she has no need for Anomaly Mastery like other Anomaly Agents, resulting in her focusing entirely on ATK to maximise her buffs and Anomaly Proficiency to increase her Luminize DMG Multiplier and Refringe Coefficient. Her ATK buff for a Triple Anomaly team caps out at 4000 ATK, making it recommended to focus on getting close to this amount first before focusing on Anomaly Proficiency.

Stat Softgoals

Anomaly Proficiency448356

The stats listed above are the stats of a Remielle before combat following the ZZZ Theorycrafting Standards for Calculations. You are not required to hit these stats but they are included for reference of what a standardized Remielle build may look like.

As mentioned above, it is important to get Remielle to 4000 ATK first, then focus on finding as many sources of Anomaly Proficiency as possible. ATK stats do not provide any value after 4000 so do not choose to get more ATK% rolls over some Anomaly Proficiency if your Remielle already has 4000 ATK.

W-Engines

The calculations below show the team DMG difference of each W-Engine compared to Weeping Gemini at Phase 5 for an M0P1 Aria, M0P1 Velina team:

Remielle's Signature W-Engine not only makes reaching 4000 ATK on her easier, it also provides additional Anomaly Proficiency, Attribute Anomaly DMG and grants a DMG Bonus buff to the team. Due to her high ATK requirements and reliance on Anomaly Proficiency, there are few alternatives to her Signature W-Engine.

Thankfully, Weeping Gemini provides ATK% in its substat and almost 200 Anomaly Proficiency in its passive, making for an ideal Free to Play alternative as it can be both crafted and now targeted by selecting it as one of the A-Rank Rate Up W-Engines on Limited W-Engine banners after Version 3.1. Unfortunately, due to the vastly lower Base ATK of A-Rank W-Engines, Remielle will require an ATK% mainstat on all three Drive Discs to get close to maximising her ATK buff. Although the large amount of Anomaly Proficiency in Weeping Gemini's passive helps offset this, there is still a large difference in team DMG compared to her Signature.

For other possible alternatives, Yanagi's Signature W-Engine Timeweaver provides higher Base ATK and an ATK% substat compared to Weeping Gemini, allowing Remielle to again use an Anomaly Proficiency mainstat. Additionally, Remielle gains an extra 75 Anomaly Proficiency when her Special or EX Specials hit enemies affected by Attribute Anomalies. Due to her Phase Flow state attacks all being considered Special Attack DMG, she will have 100% uptime on this effect. Despite this, it is still about on par with Weeping Gemini and serves as an alternative usable option for those who want a slightly easier time building Remielle with an Anomaly Proficiency mainstat instead of ATK%.

Flamemaker Shaker, Burnice's Signature W-Engine, is another high Base ATK W-Engine with an ATK% substat that can be purchased from the Collectible Exchange Store. Unfortunately, this W-Engine provides nothing else of value for Remielle, as its DMG Bonus buff goes unused by Remielle and, due to requiring frequent EX Specials or Assist Attacks to stack up, does not allow her to obtain the 50 Anomaly Proficiency. Even if she could keep 100% uptime on this effect, it would still be worse than using either Weeping Gemini or Timeweaver. Remielle also does not benefit largely from additional Energy Regen and her Phase Flow state still considers her an on-field Agent, resulting in the off-field Energy Regen being frequently disabled.

Mindscape Cinema

To put it simply, Remielle has very strong increases from her Mindscapes, with her 1st and 2nd Mindscapes both increasing team DMG by roughly 20% and 25% respectively. Her later Mindscapes are less impressive but still provide slightly more than most other Anomaly Agents, due to her Skill Levels increasing her Luminize DMG Multiplier and DMG Bonus buff value. However, this still has a minimal impact on total team DMG output. Finally, her 6th Mindscape grants her the ability to be played as an On-Field DPS. Due to the vast difference in rotations for this playstyle, this has not been calculated as part of the DMG increases below.

An important note regarding her 1st, 4th and 6th Mindscapes is the creation of Special Voidflares. These Voidflares are created using Remielle's current ATK, PEN Ratio, Flat PEN, Anomaly Proficiency and Refringe Coefficient. The DMG Bonus stat however is provided based on her current Agent Level, increasing by 2.5% per Level. This results in Special Voidflares having 150% DMG Bonus at Level 60 and causes any DMG Bonus buffs provided to Remielle to be ineffective for Special Voidflares. Special Voidflares generated by her 6th Mindscape additionally deal ¼ of the DMG compared to other Voidflares. Usually, these Special Voidflares are not worth using as her Enhanced Hold Basic stops time for enemies specifically, resulting in wasting more time waiting for bosses to leave their invulnerability frames at the start of a fight.

Regarding her 2nd Mindscape, the text currently states “While Remielle is in the Phase Flow state, the frequency at which she automatically attacks to apply Lumiflux Buildup to enemies increases.” Upon testing this in game, her attack frequency does not appear to change, sticking at roughly one attack every 5 seconds.

Mindscape% of M0% of Previous
No Mindscapes100.0%+0.0%
1st Mindscape121.0%+21.0%
2nd Mindscape152.1%+25.7%
3rd Mindscape157.5%+3.5%

5th Mindscape169.6%+3.6%
6th Mindscape194.5%+14.7%
M6 + P5 W-Engine222.3%+14.3%

Please note that her 1st and 6th Mindscapes can be slightly bigger increases in practice than shown here as Remielle's Team DMG share increases across the duration of a whole fight.

For those interested in acquiring Remielle's Mindscapes, a good stopping point is her 2nd Mindscape, with her W-Engine being recommended before going for Mindscapes due to being a similar team DMG increase to her 1st Mindscape while making her Drive Discs much easier to build.

Teambuilding

Remielle's teambuilding is very reliant on teams having three Anomaly Agents and the difference between teams with and without Velina are quite drastic. Although there are teams that can be made without using Velina, they will typically fall behind compared to Vortex teams using her, or traditional Anomaly teams utilising Nangong Yu and Yuzuha.

This guide will focus on a few standout examples that have notable information regarding Remielle's position in the team. Alternative Agents listed are still viable options but may not be standout comparatively to the primary team.

With the release of Version 3.1, Aria has had her Additional Ability condition updated to activate when paired with another Anomaly Agent. Thanks to this, her Vortex DMG increases notably while gaining additional Fandom Power from her Ultimate for more Ablooms. In addition, Aria's Anomaly Buildup is very high compared to other Anomaly Agents while being very flexible with her field time, allowing Remielle and Velina to frequently take the field when needed.

During Stun, it is recommended to achieve 3 Vortexes through a mix of Chain Attacks or EX Specials combined with Hold Basics for Ablooms. Using Aria's Ultimate is almost always a guaranteed Corruption, but can sometimes be worth using outside of Stun Windows if it results in more Ultimates across an entire Deadly Assault fight. As mentioned during the Combo section, Remielle will only use her Assist Skill and Ultimate during Stuns, as her Hold Basic has too long of an animation to fit reasonably without sacrificing DMG from Aria.

Similarly to Aria, Promeia is another Abloom-focused Anomaly Agent that can squeeze additional DMG out across a fight on top of the Vortexes already being triggered. Promeia may not have as many easy swap cancels as Aria does, but her Basic Attacks have strong Anomaly Buildup that don't require her to spend her Ablooms, allowing her to save her Trial by Cold stacks for Stun Windows instead.

Promeia's Core Passive increases her Anomaly Proficiency based on her Anomaly Mastery, further strengthening her stats for Remielle's Luminizes, while her teamwide Abloom-focused Anomaly DMG Bonus and DEF Ignore buffs allow her to also increase Velina's Abloom DMG, even if they don't make for a large amount of the team's total DMG. Keep in mind that while Promeia can make do with alternative W-Engines, her Signature becomes a lot more beneficial when paired with Wind Agents and Remielle due to the higher Anomaly Buildup, allowing for more Vortexes and faster Voidflare generation.

For those without Velina, Promeia also is one of few Anomaly Agents that sees success with Vivian, being a close alternative to Velina thanks to Promeia's ability to quickly consume Vivian's Abloom stacks, but it may be difficult for some players to frequently trigger Disorders after using Remielle's skills due to their long animations.

Miyabi plays quite differently to Promeia but as another Ice Anomaly Agent, she can be built with more focus on Anomaly Proficiency and CRIT Rate to maximise her Anomaly DMG and Buildup. She may lose out on total uses of her Enhanced Basic Attack due to the lack of Disorders, but Miyabi can be an alternative Ice Agent for Remielle teams now that her Additional Ability has been updated to include Anomaly Agents as one of its conditions. This team will typically be worse than playing Miyabi with Nangong Yu but is an option for players who either wish to play Miyabi with Remielle or need to tackle specific boss matchups.

Jane's synergies with Remielle were largely decreased as Remielle's beta developed, thanks to the removal of Luminize benefitting from her Assault CRIT DMG. Despite this, Remielle still remains a strong option for Jane, especially considering Velina is Jane's best teammate by far. With her Signature W-Engine, Jane gains large amounts of additional Anomaly Buildup, helping to trigger more frequent Anomalies, resulting in more Vortexes and more Voidflares. Although Jane's Unlock Potential does help with her W-Engine's uptime somewhat, Remielle's long animations will frequently cause its passive to fall off, which can make playing Jane with Remielle awkward if it falls off at a bad point during Stun. For those with access to Jane's 2nd Mindscape, her DMG output skyrockets thanks to Vortex benefitting from the Assault CRIT DMG.

For our other Physical Anomaly Agents, Alice's ability to trigger multiple Assaults in quick succession due to her Polarity Assault can allow for faster Voidflare generation, while Piper's raw Anomaly Buildup on her EX Special allows her to trigger faster Assaults than Jane, making up for the lack of Assault CRIT DMG. Alice also tends to have more stats relevant for Luminize than Jane or Piper, which can increase Remielle's DMG share more. All options are perfectly viable but Piper will usually fall behind in performance if not given an S-Rank W-Engine such as Alice's Signature, but for those running Piper this is likely not a big concern.

Burnice's Unlock Potential was widely regarded as underpowered upon its release, but with the release of Wind requiring high and fast Anomaly Buildup and Remielle dealing DMG more often the quicker the team can trigger Anomalies, Burnice's buffs quickly became highly valuable. The majority of her Unlock Potential focused on increasing her total Anomaly Buildup and increased the amount of time she can spend on-field, allowing her to synergise perfectly with both Velina and Remielle. Due to Burnice's extended Ultimate when not the active Agent, Remielle can also utilise her Hold Basic during Stun Windows at times without losing out on Vortexes from Burnice.

Grace's kit initially focused on high Anomaly Buildup to keep Shock active for her teammates. Although her Unlock Potential grants her additional Ablooms to further boost her DMG, they become a smaller part of the team's contribution when paired with Velina and Remielle. Despite this, her high Buildup and great synergy with Vortex naturally makes her a great Remielle teammate also. Grace can be quite hard to play compared to other Anomaly Agents for most players, for those with her Mindscapes or multiple copies of Fusion Compiler she can become an extremely potent Anomaly DPS compared to other top options.

Yanagi on the other hand falls behind quite a bit as an Electric Anomaly Agent for Remielle teams, primarily due to her lack of synergy with Wind. Polarity Disorders triggered on Windswept have a very low DMG Multiplier and Yanagi herself doesn't have particularly high Anomaly Buildup, especially without her Signature W-Engine. Although the team can still clear, Grace will typically pull ahead of Yanagi whilst also being more accessible.

Non-Vortex Teams

For those without Velina, you may find minimal use for Remielle. Although any combination of two Anomaly Agents and Remielle will likely clear both Deadly Assault and Shiyu Defense, their performance is lacking drastically compared to previous Anomaly setups utilising Agents such as Nangong Yu and Yuzuha. As mentioned previously, the most viable non-Velina team will likely be Promeia and Vivian, but other combinations of Anomaly Agents can be used to varying degrees of success.
